Jacki Zehner
“To create real change, we must shift from a culture of giving women advice to investing in their businesses.“
Jacki Zehner is the founder of SheMoney, a Utah-based company dedicated to advancing women’s financial agency and wealth through content, community, and consulting. Most recently, she became a co-mother and Chief Engagement Officer of UP, the first-ever female-forward social media platform—think X or Bluesky, turned right-side UP!
Born and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia, her first love was horses. That passion eventually shifted to bodybuilding, where she twice earned the title of Ms. Junior Canada. Academically, she excelled, graduating at the top of her high school class before pursuing finance at the University of British Columbia, where she once again graduated at the top of her class.
Upon graduation, Jacki was recruited by Goldman Sachs in New York City to join its mortgage finance department. In 1996, at the age of 32, she became the youngest woman and the first female trader to be named a partner at the firm. Most of her career was spent in mortgage-backed trading, followed by two years in the executive office, where she helped manage the careers of the firm’s managing directors. She also served on the Partnership Committee, overseeing the firm’s people processes, and played a pivotal role in launching ASCEND: A Goldman Sachs Leadership Exchange in 2002—one of the firm’s early diversity and inclusion initiatives.
After leaving Goldman Sachs, Jacki became a founding partner at Circle Financial Group, a multi-family office, and served on the boards of numerous women-focused nonprofits, including the National Council for Research on Women, The Women’s Funding Network, and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
In 2009, she embarked on a transformative chapter by joining Women Moving Millions (WMM), a campaign encouraging women to make million-dollar gifts to women-focused organizations. She later led the organization as it transitioned into a permanent entity and was honored as a co-founder, alongside Helen LaKelly Hunt.
Jacki is an active early-stage investor, backing women and BIPOC founders through both direct investments and funds. Her portfolio includes over 20 companies, with early success stories like LearnVest. Her current investments include Apolitical, Chief, Hello Alice, Known, SmartPurse, and Uplevyl, as well as Utah-based companies Rasa and Redemption Bank.
She has received numerous national and global awards for her work and commitment to advancing women and girls.
